A retreat in the hills of Orcas Island, this project was a lot of fun from start to finish. Spending time on the site to located the building, strategizing the client’s needs to land on this elevated platform that disturbs the land as little as possible. There was a strong focus on sustainability and a cost analysis directed us to a steel piles instead of a more traditional spread footing.
